We are what we do......?

I joined the LinkedIn network over 2 years ago but don't yet feel I am using it to the fullest potential. One thing I have noticed however is the difference between how people describe themselves and what they actually do.

Are you really a media analyst if 5 days a week you work for the Borough Council in the parking fines department?

Are you really a photographer if your job is Health and Safety Officer at the local chain of supermarkets?

I think maybe you are a Media Analyst or Photographer is that is your passion but maybe, especially in the current financial climate, that the thing we do to make money and pay the bills is not the role that defines who we really are.
